Sophia Porter

Sophia is from North East, Maryland and is moving to North Hollywood, California! From one North to another, she is excited to continue her acting training in the West Coast.

Sophia got her start in acting after being a competition dancer for years, and realized she was only having fun when she was lip syncing along to the words of the song, or doing the acting portion of her musical theater class. From performing all over the East Coast in dance competitions, to musicals at a local theater, to eventually high school plays and films, Sophia had found her passion.

She chose to study Acting for Film, Television and Theater at Rider University because she knew, along with her drama teacher who showed her the program, that acting was her calling. This led her to many opportunities like performing a devised piece of theater in Florence, Italy, playing her dream role Sally Perks in Puffs (which she would gladly do again when the play comes back around), and being cast in numerous short films by her friends and peers. 

Her passions include sketch comedy, romcoms, sitcoms and Disney movies. One teacher has notably told her she is "if Tina Fey was a Pixar character."

Sophia hopes to make Tina Fey proud with what she does in the future, and her dog, Bingo.
